Testimony: he gets spanked in the States, but not in the UK

That's not the case with Will Scott, who was active three years ago with just three posts total on Quora. He's now 20 years old. His mother lives in the UK, and his father in the United States.

I'm 17 and live in England with my mum. She doesn’t spank me, but my dad does when I visit. When he was still in the UK he used to spank me with his hand sometimes but four years ago he moved back to the US where he grew up and where his family is.

I visit him there twice a year, for 3–4 weeks in the summer and then either Christmas or Easter for two weeks. When I visit he often spanks me, sometimes more than once. He never spanks me for things I do when I am back home in England as he say that is Mum’s lookout, but he is tough on me when I visit. Things are very different over there. Like my cousins and I are expected to be real polite and stuff, much more so than here in the UK. We have two go to church and do chores without being asked, and under not circumstances swear or blaspeheme. This is what gets me into trouble. Just saying Christ or For God’s Sake is enough to be in trouble. Let alone the F word.

I usually get one warning about minding my manners or watching my mouth, but no second warning. If I swear or am disrespectful, he takes me to the den and gives me a belt spanking. He doesn't hit me so hard, not as hard as my uncles whip my cousins’ butts, but I get it pants down which is really tough. And it does hurt.
